Feel Myself Slipping Away... Panacea Fan Art

Wow... this took me a WHOLE DAY to draw @_@ 13 hours! But, it was so worth it It's one of the few pieces of art I'm actually happy with XD! Usually I hate everything I draw. 

This is a gift for my awesome friend from her fan fiction Panacea: www.fanfiction.net/s/7337247/1… If you haven't already read it, go read it- now It's such an epic story! I have wanted for the longest time to draw a fan art from one of her stories, and after speaking to her recently, she kinda well... prompted me into drawing a scene from her story.

In this scene, Sonic is deathly ill fighting for his life with heart failure, being pulled along in a cart by Knuckles and Shadow, on their long journey to seek help for Sonic. 

I made his muzzle and fur paler, and gave him a bit of purple around his cheeks, to make him look like he's got heart trouble. I tried to make him look really thin, but, it didn't work as well as I had hoped Dx The blue lines on the seat are quills. Sonic is losing his quills due to illness. Hedgehogs lose their quills when they are ill. I originally planned to give him bald patches, but, it just ended up looking messy, so I scrapped the idea. 

Sonic is MEANT to be wearing a coat, but he kinda, just got fed up with wearing it, so took it off in this scene (only way I could show his scar/his hand on his heart). The scar is in the wrong place, it's meant to be down his side (I think), but the scar is so epic, I just wanted to squeeze it in in this drawing, despite it being in the wrong place  

The black thing around Sonic's wrist is a heart monitor, which lets Shadow and Knuckles know when his heart rate is too high or low, when Sonic's in danger. I originally wanted to include a high reading, but, it was impossible to write that small in the space provided, so I just drew a line lol 

The one thing I hate about this picture is the white tips on the edge of Sonic's ears and quills. They were meant to be snow or a piece of ice, but it just looks messy Dx 

I did 2 versions of this picture. One with snow, one without. Still can't make up my mind which one I like best. 

All in all I'm rather pleased with how this turned out, and I hope likes it I will probably be off now for the day, to draw a scene from Porcelain next LOL I want to so bad but... scene pictures are SO HARD x-x
